Are you having a difficult time in your life to manage everyday things?
Do you need help with:
As your counsellor and therapist I do my best to offer you a safe space to be listened, heard and make sense of what you are going through. Counselling and therapy is different to speaking to friends or family because there are things you will not want to share with family and friends. Therapists are qualified professionals with years of experience helping people through difficulties and find ways to manage symptoms of mental health. You reach out for help when you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious and have no other option but to seek help through therapy.
You don’t have to suffer from mental health symptoms to be looking for therapy. At times you feel lost, you behave or react to things that you can’t find reason or explanation for. Or you question things and need a place to talk and explore what’s happening in your life. Counselling and Therapy can help you to find relief, unpick, untangle the knots to find a way through.
Time and time again I am asked by prospective clients what my approach is. Yes, counsellors and therapists have varied approaches to help their clients but the most important approach is to ask what the clients needs are? It is not about enforcing an approach that will not work with a client. It is hearing what the client wants from therapy.
I recognise that weekly face-to-face therapy sessions are not always possible for all clients, including busy executives who travel extensively or who are based abroad. My therapy services are tailored for each client to combine personal meetings with Skype, Zoom and/or phone session and maintain regular contact and to ensure continuity of your counselling.
There are many counselling and therapy services out there and it is difficult to go through them in order to find the one suited to you. If you want to speak to me please call or email me to book an initial consultation to discuss and get an idea if you feel I am suited to your needs and whether you feel we can work together.
“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is at the deepest root of our deepest wounds. Unaddressed trauma keeps perpetuating painful patterns in our lives.”
— Gabor Mate
Mental health symptoms of anxiety, general anxiety disorders and panic attacks can be extremely worrying as they can create a unexplained fear of things, bodily sensations, you can’t stop thinking and worrying about things or unexplained worries to do with health.
Depression can make you lose interest in things you liked doing, you lose your motivation and drive. You feel low, not feel like getting out of bed or meeting friends or family, feel like no one loves. You feel you have a dark cloud hanging over you that you are unable to explain.
Therapy helps you to overcome unexplained feelings, thoughts and behaviour and make shifts in your life to begin living and flourishing again.
Through therapy you become aware of why you are suffering from symptoms associated with depression, feelings of sadness, anxiety, panic attacks or other mental health worries will help you to find resources within you to find the reasons why and a way forward.
My therapy works also involves working with the South Asian community and being of a similar culture it makes it easier for clients from the Asian background to speak to a therapist who has an insight into the culture and traditions.
I am also a certified couples counsellor

“I began seeing Shireen when I was 20 years old, coming to her for a myriad of reasons: struggling with the bereavement of my mother who died when I was 16, as well a life of separation from my father, issues of personal identity, anxiety and depression, problems at university and difficulties in a long term relationship…
I was also afflicted with traumatic memories and half-memories which I was struggling to make sense of.
Unlike previous therapists and counsellors whose help I had enlisted over the years, my sessions with Shireen provided me for the first time in my life with a space in which I could say absolutely anything I needed to, wanted to, or happened to.
I found that the space Shireen held for me really enabled me to begin a process of healing which had been long overdue. When I think back to the person I was during my life before psychoanalysis with her, I am astounded by the degree to which I was beholden to my suffering, especially anxious and obsessive thoughts, a total lack of a sense of agency and motivation, and the repetition, in my dreams, in my words, in my interpersonal relationships, of traumatic events from my childhood.
All of this sounds pretty deep and maybe if you’re reading this you’d think that my sessions with Shireen were heavy or emotionally cumbersome. This is most certainly not the case. Shireen’s energy is warm, light, welcoming, and therapeutic. The only way I can describe it is her ‘healing vibes’- I started to find that just as her practice allowed me to truly cry, to truly mourn, to speak the damaged and wounded parts of myself freely, it also allowed me to truly laugh, truly joke, truly dream and begin to speculate not simply about the suffering I had experienced, what had been done to me, but about what I WANTED, about what, and how, I desired, and how to dance with my desire rather than be ashamed or crushed or terrified by it.
This is all to say that I cannot recommend Shireen’s practice enough. Psychoanalysis is not a quick fix, and it is also not always so easy and fun- but Shireen had a shining capacity to lighten the load of my emotional suffering and to make the daunting prospect of healing and facing one’s demons actually enjoyable, actually freeing and explorative rather than onerous.
I think before I saw Shireen, the grip I had on my own life and experience of the world was deathly tight- I was holding on for dear life, muscles cramping, tears in my eyes, not much hope left..
Slowly but surely, with her, she showed me it was okay to relax my grip, that I would be safe if even only in the sessions with her, I let go. The tension in my body and mind could begin to ease- I was so afraid of falling, of free-falling into an abyss, but she was there, it was okay, I was safe (even if this feeling of safety at first felt very foreign to me, because of the life I had had.)
Only once I had practiced letting go in sessions, could I actually get a healthier hold on my life, a grip which did not cause me to cramp, and which I could relax when I wanted- free falling became falling in style, like Buzz Lightyear! haha!
Thank you from the depths of my heart Shireen- to infinity and beyond!”
“The therapy experience has been invaluable to me and I wanted to thank you for helping me become a healthier and more centered version of myself.”
“Shireen is a kind but determined psychotherapist. She drives me in the right direction without pushing me. I never felt judged by her. My life in the last 5 years has completely changed and most of my achievements have been done with her… the most important thing I can say is… “the best choice I’ve made in my life has been to start a psychotherapist journey with the right woman.”
“Just a little note to say thank you for all your support over the last year or so. I can really see the changes I have made and feel our work together has been very constructive.”
“I have had the opportunity to sit with Shireen who is amazing. She actually listens to you which I feel is rare. I felt safe talking to her which is so important… I would definitely recommend Shireen’s sessions.”

“I took part in an online workshop “Creating Mental Wellbeing in the Home during Covid 19′ run by Shireen Noor of ‘Flourish with Therapy’ in April 2020. It was a fantastic workshop, very interactive and practical…
…and I was very impressed with how Shireen drew each participant out on their individual issues and concerns. and was able to help them make sense whether it be dealing with huge change and managing work/home boundaries (working from home) that was for me personally, to creating time and space for yourself, dealing with fear and anxiety regarding the whole Covid 19 situation and generally and how to maintain mental wellbeing.”
“Shireen is very easy to talk to and I felt comfortable working with her. I highly recommend her.”
